April Adams has her head in the clouds and dreams bigger than working in her father's restaurant for the rest of her life. When she meets mysterious college student Bo Wyman, she thinks she's finally found the answer to all her problems. Bo and his garage band are in need of a songwriter and April knows she's the one that can take them to the next level, but what she doesn't expect is to trip and fall for the tattooed singer who's determined to show her everything she's been missing. Over the course of a year, the two opposites find themselves growing closer each day as they rise to fame, until tragedy strikes and Bo disappears, leaving April and her dreams in the dust.
Six years later, legendary pop-punk band Persephone are on the final leg of their world tour, struggling to hold everything together. New scandals are being leaked every day, and the three band mates who were once best friends can hardly stand to be in the same room. When April unexpectedly comes tumbling back into their lives, they realize they may have found the missing piece to their puzzle.
April grudgingly agrees to join them on tour, submitting herself to eight weeks of emotional torture from the man who stole her heart and dreams and ran away with them. Bo is a shell of the man he used to be, barely even recognizable to himself, and each day in April's presence drags him further and further into the past, one he's been desperately trying to escape.
