She was looking for a horse. What she found was romance. And danger.

Willie Adams is at the L.A. Equestrian Center shopping for her first horse. A young widow struggling with the idea of dating again, she never expects that a gorgeous cowboy like Tyler Ransome would notice her. But he does.

He isn't the only one. Bobby Fermino is not as handsome, nor as pleasant. After attacking Willie he ends up dead in her tack room, leaving her the most likely suspect.

Detective Lucas Macy has a magnetic quality that Willie can't resist, but her interference in his investigation keeps them at odds, even as they are drawn to one another.

Being torn between a handsome cowboy and a sexy detective sounds like a problem any gal would be lucky to have, but for Willie it's a nightmare. She's not ready to date again and each man presents a set of problems. Tyler Ransome has an ex-wife, the beautiful blonde Missy who doesn't want him but doesn't want anyone else to have him. Lucas Macy's only problem is that he thinks Willie's a murderer.

With growing evidence pointing to her, Willie decides to search for the murderer herself. Her to-do list of "shop for a horse" just expanded to, "1. Look for a horse, 2. Solve a murder, 3. Choose between two men--or no men." What looked like an easy weekend has now become a juggling act to keep herself and her heart safe. Maybe if she buys a bucking bronco, murder and romance will be easier.
