Read and Run

What's worse, killing for profit or being crushed by modern work life?

In a world where assassination is legal and licensed by the local government, an all-female agency of professional "problem solvers" fight against the structures that bind them.

Their boss, Mr. C, thinks he's been doing the right thing all along by using his fancy MBA to make the agency his mama left him more efficient. He figures he's pretty smart...until the day he receives mysterious messages from "Anony Mouse" tipping him off that he needs to start running for his life.

Now a clutch of AI-powered drones hunt C from safe house to safe house as he reads through old case files and tries to figure out where he went wrong by the "girls" he employed so he can save his own sorry ass.

Was it when Marcie had to take part in an art class for the community outreach program, trading waterboarding for watercolors?

Or when he asked Madeline, his own "smart cookie", to bake a batch of cookies with nano-tech embedded in them?

When he asked an assassin to run a heist instead of a hit?

Part thriller, part send-up of modern work culture, Read and Run aims for the sweet spot between tragedy and comedy.
