Sanctuary

The American Museum of Magic has a secret beneath its floors: a living Hotel that stretches farther than maps allow, where hospitality is law and harm has no standing in the halls above. After the Farm falls, Sia and Mia Mason take refuge there with friends who are more family than team. They plan to rest. The world plans otherwise.

A patient enemy learns the House's rules and tries to turn them into weapons. Crowds grow anxious. Shadows test doors meant to stay shut. To keep the sanctuary whole, the fight must be moved to the places built to carry weight.

Sia's sketches begin to stir with a mind of their own. Mia learns to steady a room with song instead of force. Ella and Tobias train toward vows that put consent before spectacle, while a bell's reflection opens a path to Dragon Gods who teach through thunder and stone. Into this, a traveler arrives: Kaelan Kuzunoha, a kitsune Miko with three quiet tails, sunlight blessings, and a trickster's talent for leading danger where it cannot bite.

The House listens. The city watches. In a Hotel that refuses to be a battlefield, courage looks like kindness with a backbone, and the cost of peace is paid one measured choice at a time.
