Deep beneath the two-century-old library building of Graebner College, in the bucolic town of Covington, Vermont, Sam Whitney and Lenore Simensen come upon an ancient medieval ritual called The Code. All find themselves trapped in a deadly web spun by The Code. In the end, during one of the rituals Sam Malone kills Lenore when she comes after him with a knife deep in the underground chamber. In the last chamber we learn that the evilness is not gone; it is merely transformed to Sam. It will continue.
