Set in 19th century Georgia, this storyunfolds among some of the souths historic events. While General W. T. Sherman was presenting Savannah to President Lincoln as a Christmasgift, Ludlow Cohen was unknowingly experiencing some relation-shipsthat would impact the rest of his life and Savannah. The author weavesan arsenal of emotionsfear, hate, love, rage, and forbidden sex, thatinflamed the smoldering frustrations of life in post-Civil War Savannah. Diaries, newspapers, censuses, academic books and articles were utilizedin recording authentic words and sentiments of persons from all of thesesources.
