Raised on the west side of Chicago, Laura faced loss at a young age, became a teenage mother, survived painful relationships, and spent years caring for others while quietly carrying struggles of her own.

Her journey eventually led her into healthcare-first as a Certified Medical Assistant, then as an LPN, and ultimately back to nursing school later in life to pursue her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse.

Through fear, setbacks, long shifts, sleepless nights, motherhood, nursing school, prayer, and perseverance, Laura discovered that the chapters she once wished she could erase were helping shape the woman she was becoming.

This memoir is for the woman carrying silent pain while still showing up for everyone else.
