Seve[red] Petals, a sequel to Among Petals and Thorns, is a literary paranormal novel blending mystery, romance, and social commentary. Through interconnected stories that span a Calabrian village, a liminal afterlife, and prison interview rooms, it explores how love, memory, and choice can challenge the cycle of violence against women.

The novel is structured in three interconnected parts, each following a different protagonist and set in a distinct world. Together, they examine the roots of violence, the choices that shape human lives, and the possibility of change before-or even after-tragedy.

In The Umbilical Cord of Flowers, set in a fictional Calabrian village, Medhea, a flower shop becomes a place of solidarity where women encounter the spirits of femicide victims. Through acts of compassion, they create an association dedicated to supporting survivors, challenging social stigma, and defending women's rights. Flowers become a symbol of healing, remembrance, and collective strength.

In Even Cacti Have Petals: Mary, the story moves to a liminal realm between life and death. Mary, returning from Among Petals and Thorns, is entrusted with extraordinary abilities that allow her to revisit the past through parallel timelines. Unable to interfere with free will, she helps women recognize the warning signs of coercive control and abuse before tragedy becomes inevitable.

In Seve(red) Petals: Siah, the focus shifts to Siah, now an investigative journalist. Much of her journey unfolds in prison waiting rooms and interview rooms as she confronts men serving life sentences for femicide, seeking to understand whether those who committed irreversible violence can develop empathy, accountability, and the capacity for change. As Mary's actions ripple across time, alternative futures begin to emerge, suggesting that while the past cannot be erased, it can inspire different choices.
