Strength of the Vampire

Ruben is a 12-year-old cancer patient who loves comics, cupcakes, and detective video games. After sneaking out of bed one night, Ruben discovers a monstrous vampire lurking in the hospital and attacking patients.

First the vampire goes after his best friend (Tony), but soon Ruben finds himself a victim as well. While being smack dab in the middle of a real-life mystery seems like everything Ruben's ever dreamed of, he realizes it's not all frosting and games. This case is life or death business.

In his favorite detective video game, failure means starting the level over again. If he doesn't solve this case, he and Tony will suffer a fate worse than death. Ruben teams up with a good vampire (Kit) and a new patient and computer genius (Lex) to try and crack the case of the Hospital Vampire. As time progresses, he notices that he and Kit have very different powers from the Bad Vampire, and that their powers are not like the ones Tony seems to be developing. What is happening? Can Ruben and his friends crack the case in time, or are they SOL-sprinkles out of luck?
