The Threshold

The Threshold is a work of dark popular philosophy arguing that the most important moments of human life happen not inside rooms but in the doorways between them - the liminal spaces where identity dissolves and we become something new.

Asif M. Shah opens with a simple, unsettling observation: every civilization that ever built a structure also built a theology around its doorways.
