Ahmed and Sashi grew up sharing a cricket bat, a teacher, and a lane in Darbhanga where the sweets tasted the same at Eid and Diwali. At seven, when a bully told Ahmed his God had been kicked out of the sky, it was Sashi who threw the punch.

Then the country caught a fever, and the two boys boarded two trains in opposite directions: Ahmed toward the Delhi IT dream, Sashi toward a lonely room in Gujarat.
