"Chernobyl Meets The Haunting of Hill House in this Chilling Graphic Novel" - BookTrib

There's something in the air...

This book adaptation of the critically acclaimed play WITCHLAND is based on the author's experiences growing up in Richland Washington, "the most toxic place in the Western Hemisphere," near the infamous Hanford Nuclear Plant, which in the 1940s and 1950s released significant amounts of radioactive materials into the nearby environment, leading to higher rates of cancer in the surrounding area. This is the story of a family who moves to this town and the unexplained terror that surrounds them. Is it owed to the nuclear plant...or something more sinister?

"Horror imbues the pages of this graphic novel, looming over the narrative like a nuclear plant tower. Aided by the beautiful - and terrifying - depictions of the supernatural calamity, readers will no doubt be spooked by the renderings of the fearsome Witch. And the scares are twofold; by using both supernatural thrills and real-life tragedy as inspiration, Mulligan adds depth to the plight we find these protagonists in...Witchland uses real, historic tragedy as a fascinating jumping-off point to create a unique and transformative narrative. For those of us who enjoy a chilling read during these dark winter nights, be sure to check out this engrossing novel. Just be sure to watch your back - and whatever you do, don't mess with the Witch's sticks." - BookTrib

Glowing Reviews for the Witchland Play

"Witchland" pulls off a rare triple feat. It's legitimately spooky, which is hard to pull off in a traditional theater production, its dialogue is natural and not overladen with plot exposition, and it's very, very funny." - Pam Davis,  San Diego Union Tribune

"Witchland is the perfect night out with friends or for a date. Fun guaranteed. Congratulations ... for welcoming audiences back and making them feel as alive as ever and with the healthiest lungs too."  - Alejandra Enciso-Dardashti, Desde Otro O

"WITCHLAND takes on the ambitious task of creating a horror theatrical experience with the play. This is a notoriously tricky genre for live theatre, but [WITCHLAND] is finding creative and immersive ways to offer the audience some scary surprises" - E. H. Reiter,  Broadway World San Diego
