​The Citadel didn't just build a perfect weapon. They built a lie.​For decades, Nebulus has existed as a blank slate. Sealed permanently inside a heavy suit of volcanic basalt and bio-sinew, he is a Vanguard Leader—a towering instrument of warfare indoctrinated by the Citadel to execute the feral anomalies hiding in the toxic rust-fog of Irisa. He does not question. He does not feel.  ​Until the machine breaks.  ​During a brutal skirmish in the deep woods, a violent clash with a fierce native warrior shatters his visual feed. The collision wakes a dormant biological Node inside his skull, fracturing his programming and forcing him to see a terrifying reality: the anomalies aren't the monsters the Citadel engineered him to expect.  ​With his synthetic filters failing and the Citadel's ruthless Inquisitors descending to liquidate their malfunctioning asset, Nebulus is forced to flee into the deepest shadows of a world he was sent to conquer. Aided by the very target he was supposed to destroy, he must navigate a collapsing subterranean sanctuary torn apart by ancient secrets and sudden betrayal. Stripped of his mechanical certainty, the giant must decide whether to lose himself in the fog, or turn his chained fists toward the sky and break the empire from the inside.
